Hello,

I'll be revamping my website soon and I need some help from you guys.  I'm going to have a FAQ (frequently aksed questions) page and I want to hear from you, what questions do you want answered from me?  Such as, how long does an image take you, etc...
There will also be a before-and-after page so tell me which 'before images' of my photo manipulations you would like to see, or which pieces you would like to see step by step.

Thanks

I realize this is an old journal, but I'd like to know, hope it doesn't sound silly:
What lessons, theories, inspiration, advice, or whatever, has contributed over the years to make you a better artist?

I'm afraid the answer to this would take pages and pages to explain but here are some important things to remember:
1. The computer is just a tool
2. Nothing beats trial and error
3. A competitive spirit doesn't hurt
4. Study the masters
5. Do what your heart asks you to do

I would love to see a step by step how you made the changes in timeless beauty

First off, thank you for the opportunity to ask questions:w00t: So it doesn't get lost amongst the details, if I had to choose one piece for a step by step it would be Freedom's Edge.

As far as question go I agree with the previous sentiment about elements of your work. Three aspects that stand out to me most are...
1) Environment/Clothing - Destiny
2) The different ways you render skin - Daijobu, Frida, Amiri, Laguna, The Entertainer
3) Painterly Style - Lift Me Up, Renaissance Woman, Jane Doe, Dreaming In Color

I would like to understand the processes you use to achieve such amazing results. A step by step for any of the works above would be great, or perhaps a tutorial on technique(s) used to achieve a particular effect. I enjoy learning the nuts and bolts of of a process or technique (not just step 1, step 2, but "here's why we do this for step 1)," and "this type of brush, using these parameters is how we set up for step 2)," so I can strengthen my understanding of the tools I use:strong:

I don't know if you plan to go into that great of detail, but I can hope:)

Thank you again for the opportunity to chime in.

okies :D I'm dedicated to helping you

To the victor... [link] I'd like to see a before and after of this :) it seems so well put together that I cannot place where you added detail and what detail was already part of the photo.. and maybe it would be interesting to see a step by step of the things changed...?

Same with this :D well, step by step: Cassandra [link]

And a sort of digital art request.... I see a lot of step by steps for how to colour or come up with the shaping of ';people' in digital art.. but rarely do I see a digital art tut. for furniture and background imaging.. it seems to be the part artists fly by. Maybe you can do a tut or an explanation from one of your pieces about the props/furniture/statues, whatever's in the pic? That would be splendid :D

Thanks a lot. I'll see what I can do. I'll probably make a step by step of Cassandra but not To the victor... the model for that one is a personal friend of mine and I don't think she'd like to see that.

I agree partly with ebony-chan. I think you should do skin & face. As for metal or rock.. references will suffice. I have tried doing them using pictures and it worked out perfectly well.
