A few people have said to me after hearing my name (MichaelO), 'you're the modern day Michelangelo.' That's quite a stretch but the idea got me thinking about doing a contemporary statue in homage to the great Michelangelo.

So here we have Donna - like the statue of David. She's meant to be a stone statue with a hint of being alive.

I'll bet Michelangelo would have enjoyed the possibilities of digital art.

Model: Anne Rutherford

:bulletblue: Favorite comment to date: I love this. Her size and expression is wonderful. You rendered it beautifully. :] I could be biased cuz my name is Donna, but I don't think so lol. :p

I too believe Michelangelo would have liked digital art. The idea that you can take exactly what something looks like and alter it until it displays more than reality itself would have been most interesting for him.

People like yourself are the new Michelangelo's. You make beautiful pictures that has a deeper meaning and is communicating with the viewer.

excuse my bad English, I try to explain well. The artwork is good, but as a reproduction of David is not good. the figure of a woman imitates him, but the expression is wrong and the attitude of the figure. David expresses the will of man. your figure is posing Glamur. The David is not a pose, expresses motion. The movement of those who are attentive to face a duel against a giant! a bit like you did ripeodurre wanting a work of a giant like Michelangelo Buonarroti. :) :ahoy:
