I made this portrait simply because I wanted a new piece to put in my living room.
The room itself is tan, blue and green so these colors came out just right for the spot I have picked out.
As for the style and technique, a friend had recently asked me what my main influence is when it comes to artistic styles and, like many others, he was expecting to hear fantasy or sci-fi but it in reality, classical art (Michelangelo / Da Vinchi) is what influences me the most. So every now and then i like to work on an image that may have fit in with something from the classical era but still make a subtle effort to add a modern, digital twist to it.
I also kept in mind what i learned on my last piece (AmalgaMATE 5) that avoiding the color black helps the image look soft and realistic.
I used stock again, breaking my own rules, but this was a great image to work off of...
It reminds me of what could possibly be my favorite photograph ever that i have loved for years...
It has the same bend to the neck and wrap around feel to the head. I love that!
