Like the past two years, I wanted to share the fact that nearly half of the images I start never get finished. This seems to happen when I take a reference photo with a concept in mind, then, once I start in on it, it doesn't turn out like I had hoped.
While I enjoy using real models and the ease of photo-manipulation, it also limits me to a specific lighting setup and expression. It's just part of the job!

As always, I'd like to hear which ones you would have liked to see finished. Pick a maximum of 3 please.

Some notes:
#1 I had an idea to make a figure out of wax with candle sticks as hands. It didn't translate well with this reference photo but I have another shot in mind so I can keep the idea.

#2 Looking back on this one, it's not so bad but I feel it could have been composed better,, possibly with a background environment.

#3 Pretty and Punk - Half the model is 'bubblegum looking' while the other half looks like a punk rocker. Kinda silly.

#4 'Melting Pot' - I wanted to do many skin colors mixing into one. I guess I forgot to mix them :/

#5 This was going to be a sequel to SheAnn [link] Maybe this one could still work.

#6 Why didn't I finish this??? One of my favorite faces. [link]

#7 A mermaid lost in the desert - :giggle:

#8 A decent reference photo for this skin stitching style. I suppose I should have finished this one too.

#9 It's hard to tell from what you see here but I wanted to show the sun coming up and the figure turning human from stone as the sun touches her. Another idea I'd like to keep but I need a new reference photo.

    Every artist has a list. Most of what I start does get posted. But most of what I start isn't most of what I want to start.

    I want to draw billions of pictures but the idea sometimes never even makes it..

    But that could just be due to the fact I'm lazy. LURL. These're pretty nice but I totally understand the whole "... -Makes a different PSD file and never turns back.-" area.
